Parents allegedly starve baby because of obesity
Couple accused of starving their child
Meet Christopher and Mary Sultze, they have found their way to the pages of BB today because they stand accused of starving their baby to prevent her from becoming obese. Um, Ok!
Their daughter who weighed nearly eight pounds when she was born in July 2010, at 14-months had only gained five pounds. The Sultzes were frustrated with the doctors repeated advice to feed the baby more. Mr. Sultze told them the family maintained a “very low cholesterol diet” and “he doesn’t want obese children.”
Doctors finally convinced them to admit their daughter to the hospital in August and in two days she had gained eight ounces. According to the doctors the baby was “essentially starving.” Good Gawd… people feed the baby for shit’s sake!
The baby has been removed and placed in foster care.
Mr. and Mrs. Sultze have both been charged felony child neglect, face up to one year in prison and $25,000 fine if convicted. Both were released on bond and ordered to stay away from their daughter.
